Even though the Chinese embassy on Monday reacted to the Indian government’s decision to ban Chinese foreign direct investments through the automatic route saying that it violated WTO’s principle of non-discrimination and hoped New Delhi would “treat investments from different countries equally”, the two countries continue to quietly work together to facilitate supply of medical equipment seen as crucial to India’s fight against Covid-19.
