Amid a heatwave in India, the country's energy demand reached an all-time high of 2,07,111 MW (207 GW) at 02.50 pm on Friday, the Power Ministry said. This came after the peak power demand had reached a record 204.65 GW on Thursday. The peak power shortage recorded on Thursday was 10.77 GW.
