The first patient who tested positive for the Omicron variant in India "escaped" to Dubai after taking a COVID-19 negative certificate from a private lab, the Karnataka government said on Friday. "We've lodged a complaint with the police and they will see what went wrong at the Shangri-La hotel, from where the person escaped," said state Revenue Minister R Ashoka.
