India has responded after the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) designated India as a "country of particular concern" citing violations of religious freedom. Calling the report "biased and inaccurate", the government said, "These comments reflect a severe lack of understanding of India and its constitutional framework, its plurality and its democratic ethos."
