India has recorded over 40,000 cases in 24 hours for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began. The country registered its biggest single-day spike of 40,425 cases and 681 deaths in the past 24 hours, which indicates that cases are spreading rapidly in India. On the brighter side, the number of people who have recovered from the deadly infection has crossed 7 lakh. The union ministry of health and family welfare released the coronavirus data today morning stating that the country has recorded 1,11,8043 cases so far. 618 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease in the last 24 hours, taking the fatalities counta to 27497 and 3,90,459 active cases. 1,40,47,908 samples tested for COVID19 up to 19th July. Of these 2,56,039 were tested yesterday: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
