Vijay Rupani and Nitin Patel were sworn in as Gujarat chief minister and deputy CM, respectively, for the second successive term along with 18 other ministers by governor OP Kohli in the presence of PM Narendra Modi and a galaxy of top BJP leadership at a grand ceremony at Sachivalaya helipad ground in Gandhinagar on Tuesday.
In a departure from convention, ministers were sworn-in almost an hour ahead of 12.39 pm — the Vijay Mahurat, which is favoured by politicians. Rupani arrived at the venue after offering prayers at Panchdev Mahadev Temple in Gandhinagar.
