The CBI on Tuesday sent a ripple into the Himachal Pradesh bureaucracy by arresting eight policemen, including a senior IPS officer, in a case relating to the custodial death of a key accused in the Kotkai rape and murder of a minor girl. Among those who have been arrested are Inspector General Zahoor H Zaidi and deputy superintendent of police Manoj Joshi. The cops have been arrested for the sudden death of Suraj Singh in the Kotkhai lock-up on July 18. It was alleged that he had been brutally beaten up and murdered by another accused Rajender Singh.
