School students in Rajasthan will now read the story of bravery of Indian Air Force Pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman in textbooks. According to reports, the proposal of adding the IAF pilot's story comes from Govind Singh Dotasra, the education minister of Rajasthan. The Minister took to Twitter and said as the pilot’s school education was done in Jodhpur, this move was taken to honour him and his bravery.
However, the minister did not mention which standard would have Wing Commander Abhinandan’s story as part of their curriculum.
Wing Commander Abhinandan emerged a hero after he shot down a Pakistani F-16 warplane before his MiG 21 was downed forcing him to bail out. He was captured and spent about 60 hours in Pakistani custody before returning home Friday night.
