Home Minister Rajnath Singh during his speech at the All India Forensic Conference on Saturday, emphasised the need to increase cyber forensic capabilities. The Home Minister who was in Ahmedabad on Saturday revealed that the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to establish units where crimes perpetrated on the internet against women and children can be reported. Rajnath Singh at the conference said, “Need to increase cyber forensic capabilities. We have decided to establish cyber crime reporting portal to report cyber crimes against women. Will also establish cyber crime lab to stop crimes against women, children.” Last month Rajnath Singh while attending the closing ceremony of the 8th All India Police Commando Competition at the National Security Guard garrison in Gurgaon near Delhi said that hacking websites and data leaks also put the national security in jeopardy. Rajnath emphasised that cyber security is emerging as the ‘fourth dimension’ to the threats of the nation and asked the security forces to prepare to eliminate these threats besides eliminating conventional forms of threat.
