Seven months it remained closed for public owing to the global pandemic, but the Statue of Unity (SoU) at Kevadia is all set to reopen for tourists now. World's tallest statue, the Statue of Unity in Gujarat will be reopened for visitors from 17th of October, the first day of nine-night festival Navratri, said a note by Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd today. In order to maintain social distancing, daily only 2500 visitors will be allowed inside the Statue. Of them only 500 will be taken to 193-meter level viewing gallery.
The tickets will be available in two-hour slots onine at www.soutickets.in . Visitors will be allowed entry only for particular slot for which they have bought ticketss. Physical ticket issuance – on-site ticket issuance will remain closed.Wearing mask has been made mandatory for each visitor. Thermal screening, sanitization, sanitizer machines, marked spaces etc arrangements have been made. Special buses that carry the visitors will also have provision of seating arrangement as per the social distancing norms.
