The Bharatiya Janata Party has named Union external affairs minister S Jaishankar
and Jugalji Thakor as its candidates for the two Rajya Sabha bypoll seats from Gujarat. While former foreign secretary S Jaishankar formally joined the BJP in New Delhi on Monday, Jugalji Thakor has emerged as the young OBC face of the BJP in the recent past.
S Jaishankar arrived in Ahmedabad on Monday evening and will file his RS nomination from Gujarat at 11.30 am, considered an auspicious time. Born in Mehsana, 48-year old Jugalji Lokhandwala (Thakor) has emerged as the young OBC face of the BJP in Gujarat.
