Gujarat's tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 2,43,459 on Tuesday with 804 more persons testing positive for the infection, the state health department said. With the death of 7 more patients, the fatalities increased to 4,295, it said. The state has in all recorded 10,021 active cases of which 63 are on ventilator support. At the same time, 999 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases in the state to 2,29,143, the department said in a release here. The state's recovery rate stood at 94.12 percent, it said. As many as 53,389 tests were conducted for coronavirus in the state in a day at a rate of 821.37 tests per day per million population, the department said.
