Gujarat's tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 7,71,447 on Wednesday with 5246 more persons testing positive for the infection, the state health department said. With the death of 71 more patients, the fatalities increased to 9,340, it said. The state has in all recorded 92,617 active cases of which 742 are on ventilator support. At the same time, 9001 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases in the state to 6,69,490, the department said in a release here. 
The state's recovery rate stood at 86.78 percent, it said.
