Gujarat's tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 5,81,624 on Saturday with 13,847 more persons testing positive for the infection, the state health department said. With the death of 172 more patients, the fatalities increased to 7,355, it said. The state has in all recorded 1,42,139 active cases of which 637 are on ventilator support. At the same time, 10,582 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases in the state to 4,29,130, the department said in a release here. According to the state health department, 98,11,863 persons have been given the first dose of vaccine and 24,92,496 persons have been given the second dose of vaccine. A total of 1,23,04,359 persons have been vaccinated so far.  Today, 55,235 persons between the ages of 18 and 44 were vaccinated with the first dose. There has been no case of adverse reaction or side-effects of Covid-19 vaccine in the State so far. The state's recovery rate stood at 73.78 percent, it said.
