With the death of 22 more COVID-19 patients, the fatalities rose to 2,418, it said.The number of recovered cases rose to 44,074 with 879 more patients getting discharged on Thursday, the health department said in a release. The state now has 13,793 active cases, with the condition of 84 patients being critical, it said.
Of these fresh cases, Ahmedabad reported 157 more positive patients in the last 24 hours, total coronavirus cases reaches 26,341. The death toll also rose by 1,5 94 after 5 of the new 22 deaths from the state were recorded in Ahmedabad.
Surat reported 271 cases and 22 deaths in the state in the day, it said. With this, Surat's COVID-19 coronavirus cases reaches 12,785, while the death toll mounted to 406, the health department said.
