Coronavirus tightened its grip on Gujarat as the state on  added 1,101 new positive cases, taking the state's tally to 69,986. Likewise, with 23 deaths in 24 hours on Saturday sent the death toll spiralling to 2,629. The state reported recovery of 1,135 patients, which took the number of discharged persons to 52,927. There are total 14,530 active cases in Gujarat. 82 of these patients are on ventilator support, it added. Cases and fatalities in Ahmedabad continue to rise. The city reported 158 cases and 5 deaths. Total 1,631 deaths, 27,745 cases and 22,393 recoveries have been recorded in Ahmedabad.
