Gujarat reported 6021 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, the highest daily rise so far, which took its caseload to 3,53,516, the health department said. For the first time since the pandemic began, the one- day rise in cases crossed the 6,000-mark in the state. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 4,855 after 55 more persons succumbed to the infection during the same period. 2854 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases in the state to 3,17,981. The number of active cases crosses 30,000-mark. At present, Gujarat has 30,680 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 216 patients are on ventilator. The first dose of vaccine has been given to 82,37,367 persons and the second dose has been given to 11,12,678 persons. A total of 93,50,045 persons have been vaccinated so far. There has been no case of adverse reaction or side-effects of Covid-19 vaccine in the State so far. The state's recovery rate stood at 89.95 percent, it said.
