Gujarat reported 5011 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, the highest daily rise so far, which took its caseload to 3,42,026, the health department said. For the first time since the pandemic began, the one- day rise in cases crossed the 5,000-mark in the state. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 4,746 after 49 more persons succumbed to the infection during the same period. 2525 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases in the state to 3,12,151. The number of active cases crosses 25,000-mark. At present, Gujarat has 25,129 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 192 patients are on ventilator. The first dose of vaccine has been given to 78,71,091 persons and the second dose has been given to 10,31,634 persons. A total of 89,02,725 persons have been vaccinated so far. There has been no case of adverse reaction or side-effects of Covid-19 vaccine in the State so far. The state's recovery rate stood at 91.27 percent, it said.
