Gujarat reported 14,097 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, the highest daily rise so far, which took its caseload to 4,81,737, the health department said. For the first time since the pandemic began, the one- day rise in cases crossed the 14,000-mark in the state. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 6,171 after 152 more persons succumbed to the infection during the same period. 6,479 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases in the state to 3,67,972. At present, Gujarat has 1,07,594 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 396 patients are on ventilator. The first dose of vaccine has been given to 92,99,215 persons and the second dose has been given to 18,71,782 persons. A total of 1,11,70,997 persons have been vaccinated so far. There has been no case of adverse reaction or side-effects of Covid-19 vaccine in the State so far. The state's recovery rate stood at 76.38 percent, it said.
