Gujarat reported 13,105 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, the highest daily rise so far, which took its caseload to 4,53,836, the health department said. For the first time since the pandemic began, the one- day rise in cases crossed the 13,000-mark in the state. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 5,877 after 137 more persons succumbed to the infection during the same period. 5,010 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases in the state to 3,55,875. The number of active cases crosses 92,000-mark. At present, Gujarat has 92,084 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 376 patients are on ventilator. The first dose of vaccine has been given to 91,51,776 persons and the second dose has been given to 17,07,297 persons. A total of 1,08,59,073 persons have been vaccinated so far. There has been no case of adverse reaction or side-effects of Covid-19 vaccine in the State so far. The state's recovery rate stood at 78.41 percent, it said.
