The local crime branch (LCB) officials of Jamnagar police arrested a person with demonetized currency worth Rs 1 crore on Friday evening. Police identified the accused as Mohammed Siddiq Qureshi(60), a resident of Khojanaka area in Jamnagar. "We arrested Qureshi on the basis of a tip-off about him hoarding the demonetized currency. Qureshi was nabbed while riding a two-wheeler near Patel Samaj ni Vadi in Ranjitnagar area of Jamnagar," an LCB official said.
"The seized currency include 3,500 demonetized notes of Rs 1,000 denominationand 13,000 demonetized notes of Rs 500 denomination, all worth Rs 1 crore," the official added.
