Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel held a review meeting with officials to take stock of the situation ahead of the landfall of cyclone Biparjoy. With the cyclone barrelling towards the Gujarat coast, parts of the Saurashtra-Kutch region received heavy rains accompanied by strong winds, the Met department said. The Indian Coast Guard has positioned ships, relief teams and helicopters for rapid humanitarian aid and disaster relief operations in Gujarat. A total of 33 teams have been earmarked by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to undertake relief and rescue operations in Gujarat and Maharashtra ahead of the expected landfall of cyclone Biparjoy.
