Gujarat Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai presented a Rs 3,32,465 crore budget with no new taxes imposed on people. 

BUDGET SPEECH HIGHLIGHTS:

-The budget size is Rs. 3,32,465 crore, the highest ever in the history of Gujarat.

– The finance minister has announced the Suposhan Mission.

-Finance minister announces NaMo Lakshmi Yojana(Rs. 1250 crore) for 10 lakh class 9-11 girls students in schools.

-The finance minister announced Namo Shri Yojaya for SC/ST/NFSA/PMJY etc 15 types of pregnant and new mother women. Rs. 750 crore allocated.

-Cancer hospital in Ahmedabad to get Cyclotron Proton centre.

-Finance Minister announces NaMo Saraswati yojana.

-Finance Minister announces Mission School Excellence 2.0.

–Nirmal Gujarat Abhiyan 2.0 announced.

-Municipalities namely Navsari, Gandhidham, Morbi, Vapi, Anand, Mahesana, and Surendranagar-Wadhvan to become Municipalities from the current status of municipalities. It will boost the progress of the city. The finance minister conveys thanks to Chief Minister who holds the urban development portfolio.

-The Gujarat government has procured land in Ayodhya for facilities for Gujarati pilgrims. Construction will start soon, says the Finance minister, invoking ”Jay Shri Ram” slogan in the assembly house.

-Sabarmati Riverfront to be extended from Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar. Phase-4 and phase-5 Indira bridge to Gandhinagar. 38.2 km will be a total length. It will be the longest and greenest riverfront in the world.

-Centralized system for 112 numbers, a single number for police, and fire brigade. Jan Rakshak Yojana for this will have 1100 Jan Rakshak vehicles. Police will be available within 10 minutes in urban areas and 30 minutes in rural areas after a call by the citizen.

-Rs. 33 crore allocation for the School of Semiconductor in partnership of Micron at Sanand.

-GIFT City to be expanded from 900 acre to 33o0 acre area. Finance Minister announces Rs. 52 crore for setting up a fintech hub in GIFT City. He also announces Rs. 100 crore provision for building a riverfront in GIFT City.

-Morbi and Kutch to get new Agricultural universities. Khedbrahma will get new Agriculture Engineering University.
