BJP’s Lok Sabha MP from Bharuch leader Mansukh Vasava Tuesday resigned from the party. Vasava’s resignation comes a week after he wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking withdrawal of MoEFCC notification declaring 121 villages of Narmada district as ‘eco sensitive zone’.
In a letter to Gujarat BJP President C R Paatil, Vasava stated he will submit his resignation as a Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha speaker during the upcoming budget session. “I am resigning so that the image of party is not damaged because of my mistakes. I have been a loyal worker of the party, so please forgive me,” he said.
