As soon as the death toll in the Gujarat hooch tragedy rose to 28, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that even when liquor has been banned in the state, over 845 people have lost their lives in the past 15 years.
"Gujarat is a dry state. Still in 15 years, 845+ people have died after drinking poisonous liquor. Such a big organized network has been running under which politicians? The government is incurring a loss of 15,000 crore due to liquor prohibition, but it is being sold openly. So in whose pocket is this money going?" AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj said.
