Contrary to speculation that bigwigs may be nominated from Gujarat, the BJP leadership on Wednesday named old party loyalists Abhay Bharadwaj and Ramila Bara as its nominees for the Rajya Sabha election later this month. While Bharadwaj, a senior advocate, has an RSS background and shares a personal equation with PM Narendra Modi, Bara is a senior tribal face of the BJP and vice-president of the state unit.
