Gujarat Assembly passed Goods Services and Tax 2017 unanimously today. Only one tax will be levied in the state. However, Gujarat government has allowed the local bodies to collect entertainment tax. With GST, excise, VAT, service tax and entertainment tax will be abolished. Deputy CM of Gujarat, Nitin Patel said, “With the implementation of GST, businessmen and industrialists will not have to go to the government offices.”
