The government has managed to mop up Rs 92,283 crore from GST during the first month of the new regime since July 1, from a little under 65% of the registered taxpayers. The collections are marginally higher than the internal estimate of Rs 91,000 crore but officials are expecting the kitty to swell since several taxpayers are still filing returns.
