The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has directed banks not to charge savings bank account customers for online transactions in the NEFT system with effect from January 2020. The central bank had recently waived the charges it levied on banks for NEFT and RTGS transactions. The RBI said it will also enable the processing of e-mandates for transactions through UPI.
