The US Senate on Wednesday confirmed President Joe Biden's close aide Eric Garcetti as the country’s next ambassador to India. With the development, 52-year-old Garcetti will now fill in the key diplomatic position that had been vacant for more than two years. Garcetti's nomination was confirmed via a 52-42 vote.
