The Enforcement Directorate on Friday arrested Hyderabad businessman Sana Satish Babu, an accused in the meat exporter Moin Qureshi money laundering case and who was at the centre of the fierce infighting with the CBI last year.
Sana had been a key element in the feud between former CBI director Alok Verma and his erstwhile No 2 Rakesh Asthana.
The confrontation between the two senior-most CBI officers started in August 2018 when Asthana wrote to the cabinet secretary about his finding that Sana, co-promoter of Playboy Club in Hyderabad, had allegedly paid huge bribes to Verma for hushing up the case the CBI had registered against him for paying bribes through Qureshi to secure help for businessman Sukesh Gupta, director of MBS Jewellers.
