The Election Commission said Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s reference to “Modiji ki sena” had violated its instructions asking political campaigners to refrain from using the defence forces for political propaganda, and advised him to be careful in future.
It also expressed “displeasure” at Niti Aayog vice-chairman Rajeev Kumar’s remarks criticising Congress’s poll promise of minimum income guarantee. The EC concluded that the comments violated the model code of conduct and asked him exercise caution.
