A special NIA court dismissed on Wednesday the plea to bar 2008 Malegaon blast accused Pragya Singh Thakur from contesting the Lok Sabha polls, saying the matter could only be decided by the Election Commission. It also asked why the NIA, in its reply to the plea, had stated that in its 2016 supplementary chargesheet it had not found sufficient evidence to prosecute her. “It is not known why this portion is included in the say when no prayer in this regard was made by the intervenor (Nisar Bilal),” the court said.
