A magnitude of 4.8 earthquake strike on the Richter scale hit Nicobar Islands at 5:30 am today, according to the Indian Meteorological department. Yet no reports of casualties or injuries were received.
Earlier in January, an earthquake measuring 6.0 magnitude struck in the Nicobar Islands region.
