National Policy for Women has proposed a draft recommendation to ensure time-bound disposal of matrimonial disputes, make education free for poor families' girls and provide better facilities for working women. It also suggested releasing women convicts who have served one-third of their jail time as under-trials for non-heinous crimes. The proposed draft policy is yet to seek government approval.
