Dipa Karmakar, a top gymnast, became the first Indian to earn a gold medal at the Asian Senior Championships on Sunday, winning the women's vault.
Dipa, 30, scored an average of 13.566 in the vault final on the final day of competition in Uzbekistan's capital city. North Koreans Kim Son Hyang (13.466) and Jo Kyong Byol (12.966) won the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
