Four days after her arrest for sharing a widely circulated meme of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, the Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the immediate release of 26-year-old BJP youth wing leader Priyanka Sharma but directed her to tender an apology for hurting the sentiments of her political rivals.
At the outset of the proceedings, a vacation bench of Justices Indira Banerjee and Sanjiv Khanna said they have seen the post shared by the BJP leader and she should tender apology.
