Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday has criticised the central government for failing to address the severe air pollution in Delhi. Calling the national capital "the most polluted city in the world," Tharoor expressed concern over its uninhabitable conditions during winter months and poor air quality throughout the year.
"Delhi is officially the most polluted city in the world, four times above hazardous levels and nearly five times worse than the second most polluted city, Dhaka," he posted on X, sharing a list of 'Most Polluted Cities' in their ranking. He even questioned whether Delhi should remain the nation's capital, given its severe environmental challenges.
"This city is essentially uninhabitable from November to January inclusive and barely liveable the rest of the year. Should it even remain the nation's capital?" said Tharoor.
