The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Senior Advocate and former Union minister P Chidambaram in the corruption and money laundering case related to the INX Media Scandal, involving allegedly illegal clearance given to the firm to receive massive foreign funds. Mr. Chidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram have been questioned multiple times in the case.
The case involves his alleged kickbacks received by his son, Karti Chidambaram, in exchange for illegal clearance for INX Media to receive foreign funds to the tune of Rs. 305 crore. At the time, Mr. Chidambaram was the finance minister in the UPA government headed by Manmohan Singh.
