Rescuers are racing against time in Turkey and Syria to help survivors from the rubble of collapsed buildings. With every hour passing, the fear of survivors succumbing from the cold weather under the rubble increases.
Two days after a series of earthquakes struck Turkey and Syria, the death toll has crossed 8,000 and is expected to rise further. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan declared a state of emergency for three months in 10 provinces affected by the earthquake. The provinces were also declared disaster zones.
