Income Tax Department on Wednesday announced the deadline for filing income tax returns for individuals has been extended by 10 days to January 10, 2021. The decision was taken in view of the continued challenges faced by taxpayers in meeting statutory compliances due to outbreak of COVID-19. Today, as many as 8,96,617 tax returns were filed up to 3 pm.
