Former Uttar Pradesh minister Dara Singh Chauhan joined the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Sunday, days after he resigned from the ruling BJP. Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav welcomed Dara Singh Chauhan into the party fold. Chauhan is the third UP minister to have joined the Samajawadi Party in the last one week. Others who have joined the SP are Swami Prasad Maurya and Dharam Singh. "When the BJP government was formed in 2017, the slogan was given, 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas', but development was only for a few people. The rest were left to fend for themselves. Today there is a conspiracy to make slaves by giving ration," he said.
