Cyclone Biparjoy, classified as a 'severe' cyclonic storm, will cross Saurashtra and Kutch and adjoining Pakistan coasts between Mandvi and Karachi near Gujarat's Jakhau Port today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. Cyclone Biparjoy will make landfall at 4-5 pm today. More than 74,000 people living near the Gujarat coast have been shifted to safer places as a precaution and the state administration has deployed disaster management units for rescue and relief measures. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel held a review meeting with officials to take stock of the situation ahead of the landfall of cyclone Biparjoy.
