Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni introduced the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill, 2022 in Lok Sabha on Monday. Opposition parties raised objections over the Bill and called it unconstitutional. The bill proposes to allow police and prison authorities to collect, store and analyse physical and biological samples of convicts as well as persons accused of crimes.
