In major observation, the CBI on Thursday informed the Supreme Court that the crime scene where a postgraduate trainee doctor was allegedly raped and murdered on duty at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, was tampered with. 

The CBI also mentioned that the first FIR was lodged only after the cremation of the victim - at 11:45 PM. The CBI also said, "We entered the scene on 5th day and CBI probe to start is a challenge and the crime scene is altered."

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta who is appearing for the CBI said, "First FIR was registered after cremation at 11:45 pm. Then they told their parents that it was suicide, then death and then friends of the doctor at the hospital insisted on videography and thus they also suspected something was amiss."

SC also directed Kolkata Police officer, who registered the first entry about rape-murder incident, to appear on the next hearing to disclose the time.
