The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Friday appealed to social activist Medha Patkar to withdraw her indefinite fast seeking rehabilitation of nearly 40,000 families whose homes and lands will be submerged once the water in the Sardar Sarovar Dam is discharged. “We are in solidarity with her cause and have been raising the issue in Parliament. We will continue to fight for it,” party National Secretary D Raja said here.
