Gujarat on Friday reported 8,920 new Covid-19 cases, highest single-day count so far, taking its tally to 3,84,688. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 5,170 after 94 more persons succumbed to the infection during the same period. 3,387 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases in the state to 3,29,781. The number of active cases crosses 49,000-mark. At present, Gujarat has 49,737 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 283 patients are on ventilator. The first dose of vaccine has been given to 87,11,085 persons and the second dose has been given to 13,02,796 persons. A total of 1,00,13,881 persons have been vaccinated so far. There has been no case of adverse reaction or side-effects of Covid-19 vaccine in the State so far. The state's recovery rate stood at 85.73 percent, it said.
