The number of coronavirus cases in Gujarat rose to 3548 after 247 more people tested positive for the disease in the state a health department official said. The death toll in the state went up to 162, as Eleven more patients succumbed to coronavirus, principal secretary (health) Jayanti Ravi said.
Out of the 256 new cases, 197 cases were reported from Ahmedabad, 30 cases were reported from Surat, 2 cases were reported from Anand, 1 case were reported from Botad, Daang, Jamnagar & Rajkot each, 5 cases were reported from Gandhinagar, 6 cases were reported from Vadodara and 3 cases were reported from Panchmahal.
Out of Eleven latest deaths, 5 death were reported from Ahmedabad, while one death from Vadodara, 4 death were reported from Surat and 1 death were reported from Banaskantha. Total 109 deaths in Ahmedabad so far and 2378 cases so far.
Out of total 2982 active cases, the condition of 31 patients is serious and they are on ventilator support while 2,961 are stable and 81 persons recovered from the infection and given discharge in the last 24 hours, she said.
