Coronavirus cases in India climbed to over 87.28 lakh after the country reported a single-day spike of 44,878 infections, according to the Union health ministry. India's death toll due to the Covid-19 infection has also mounted to 128,688 after 547 coronavirus positive patients succumbed to the disease. India currently has 484,547 active cases of coronavirus after a decrease of 4,747 in the last 24 hours. Of the 87,28,795 total coronavirus cases, 81,15,580 have recovered. A total of 49,079 patients were discharged on Thursday, the Union health ministry said.
