Congress MLAs Alpesh Thakor and Dhavalsinh Zala resigned from the Gujarat Assembly, apparently after voting against the party candidates in the Rajya Sabha bypoll Friday. Thakor said, I voted after listening to my inner voice and keeping national leadership in strong consideration. I also kept in mind about the party that has lost the public's support and betrayed my trust.

Another Congress MLA Dhavalsinh Zala also confirmed that he has resigned from the party post. "People from Congress party were insulting us and people again and again. Leaders were not listening to small workers of the party. Considering everything, I have resigned from the post of Congress MLA," said Zala.
